Various report have revealed that Israel is threatened by earthquakes and considered structurally unprepared to face them. But initiatives to reduce risk and reinforce buildings are in place.

Palestinians will be affected by any future earthquakes because buildings in the Palestinian territories are not earthquake resistant. However, plans for earthquake-resistant buildings and infrastructure, a disaster risk management system, and awareness raising activities are being developed to mitigate earthquake damages.
