BDSG is a volunteer group composed of university students, young researchers and lecturers who are concerned in disaster risk reduction issues. Since their establishment in 2010, they have focused on nurturing young people to conduct disaster education activity in various groups and levels of society.
Their vision is to become an established youth-led Disaster Education Agency and Disaster Learning Center in Indonesia for a more disaster-resilient society. They foster innovations in developing interesting methods and approaches of DRR education.
One of their growing innovations is DRR Homestay Program and Youth Exchange Program in DRR, which was conducted for the last two years with youth groups in Japan. BDSG bridges the academic and practical worlds, in order to develop methods and approaches that can trigger real action in DRR.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
