The CDRRF will fund the development of a methodology and guidelines for mainstreaming disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation considerations in the national Country Poverty Assessment processes and frameworks. Mainstreaming demonstration projects will be conducted in two CDB Borrowing Member States.
Country Poverty Assessment surveys are conducted in these states in five-year cycles, collecting data at the individual, household, and community levels. By linking DRR/CCA and poverty assessment processes, the CDRRF’s mainstreaming intervention will promote the systematic consideration of community-level DRR/CCA data for fact-based decision making on national development and poverty alleviation.

Baseline assessment surveys will be conducted in five thematic areas for each of the community-level DRR/CCA demonstration projects.

Baseline assessment surveys will be conducted in the following areas; gender responsiveness, livelihoods sustainability, environmental sustainability, natural hazards, and knowledge-attitudes-and-practices (KAP).

Information from the baseline assessments will be used to enhance project proposals and establish performance targets using participatory approaches.

Formal and participatory approaches will be used to monitor and evaluate the outcomes of each community-level DRR/CCA demonstration against project-specific participatory Performance Measurement Frameworks (PMFs).

The CDRRF will work closely with the vulnerable beneficiary communities, implementation partners, and regional practitioners, to enhance awareness and develop case study analyses that capture the experiences, lessons, and best-practices generated by each of the DRR/CCA demonstration projects.

Through development, and targeted sharing, of experienced-based knowledge on delivery of tangible natural hazard and climate risk reduction solutions at the community-level, the CDRRF aims to address national and regional knowledge deficits. Implementation of up to 19 community-level disaster risk reduction and/or climate change adaptation demonstration projects (linked, where appropriate, to livelihoods) to reduce risk to vulnerable populations at the community level.

Experiences, lessons, and best practices from the implementation of DRR/CCA demonstrations projects will be captured and analysed in case studies, and other information products and delivery applications, for targeted knowledge dissemination and awareness building.
