CDE stands for the Consortium for Disaster Education. It was founded in October 2006 as a follow up of the International Risk Reduction Day 2006 with the theme: “Disaster Risk Reduction Begins at School”.
The main specific aim of CDE is to function in supporting development of sustainable policy and DRR education practices at national and local levels through formal, non formal, as well as informal approaches by improving the capacity, coordination, and synergy among parties having the commitment for DRR education.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
