Environmental Protection and Conservation Organisation (EPCO) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) found in the Republic of Mauritius. It was founded in 1987 and has more than 30 years of experience working in the field of environment in the Republic of Mauritius. EPCO is also NCSR registered with registration number NCSRF/2017/0333.
EPCO is associated with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Department of Public Information (DPI) and is accredited with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). EPCO is also a member of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) NGO Network and works closely with the Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA).
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
