In a world where countries and regions must cooperate to address urgent problems such as: climate change, conflict, food security, health and education, the European Center for Development Policy Management helps countries in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP) build effective partnerships that will tackle these and other development challenges. Economic and political North-South relations are usually biased towards the most powerful. We therefore want to reduce the ‘asymmetries’ in policy making between the EU and ACP countries. By making the EU-ACP partnership more balanced and effective The European Center for Development Policy Management stimulate developing countries to unleash their full potential. We provide support to key development processes in developing regions and countries in a long term perspective. By doing so we assist the ACP in strengthening their institutions and capacities to develop policies and strategies that shape their own futures and provide pathways out of poverty.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
