ISID focuses on countries with limited resources that experience a higher burden of infectious diseases. It emphasizes the intersection of infectious diseases in humans, animals, and plants, their ability to cross national and regional boundaries, and the importance of international scientific exchange and cooperation to develop effective solutions.
The Society promotes partnerships and collaborative efforts among human health, veterinary health, and environmental health communities at local, national, and global levels to improve the control and management of infectious diseases. ISID is a global non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization open to individuals with an interest in infectious diseases.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
