IUCN NL is the National Committee of the Netherlands of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). IUCN is the world’s largest and oldest global environmental organization. The Union’s world headquarters are located in Gland, Switzerland. IUCN brings together more than 1,200 member organizations including 200+ government and 900+ non-government organizations. IUCN mobilizes research and provides policy guidance to major global environmental conventions such as the Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species (CITES) and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). IUCN is the only environmental organization with official UN Observer Status.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
