Nepal Development Research Institute (NDRI) is an independent, non-partisan and non-profit institution registered in Nepal. It aims to address the contemporary policy challenges, such as the gaps between policy and practice, and to influence public policy through rigorous scientific research.
Established in 2004, NDRI comprises of an interdisciplinary team of experts with highest academic standings, mostly doctoral degrees, and wealth of national and international experiences. During the past thirteen year's period, NDRI focused on creating opportunities for research, dialogue and collaboration which strengthened the linkage between the policy makers, academia and a pool of experts. The beneficiaries of NDRI's activities include political bodies, government institutions, international organizations, universities, and research institutes.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
