The Ove Arup Foundation is an independent charity, established in 1989 to honour the memory of engineer, designer and philosopher, Sir Ove Arup. Ove strongly believed in the multi-disciplinary nature of design in engineering and architecture, and pioneered an holistic approach to projects throughout his career. In acknowledgement of this approach, and of his contribution to the field over many decades, the Ove Arup Foundation is committed to promoting new thinking in education, and to nurturing engineering of the built environment.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
