The Platform on Disaster Displacement works towards better protection for disaster displaced persons and looks at the ‘human face of disasters and the adverse effects of climate change’. The main objective of the Platform on Disaster Displacement is to follow-up on the work started by the Nansen Initiative, and to support States in implementing the Nansen Initiative Protection Agenda, a toolbox to better prevent and prepare for displacement and to respond to situations when people are forced to find refuge, within their own country or across the border. For the Nansen Initiative please visit the profile at: https://www.preventionweb.net/organizations/14379/view.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
