UNDP office in Kazakhstan was opened in 1993, soon after the country's accession to the UN. Since then, we implemented over 100 projects and assisted the government of Kazakhstan in developing a number of policy documents, including Kazakhstan-2030, National Environmental Action Plan, the Concept of Social Protection for Kazakhstan, Program of Institutional Strengthening for Sustainable Development, Poverty Reduction Program 2003-2005 and others. In 1998, UNDP Liason Office was opened in Astana to help further strengthen the cooperation with the government of the country.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
