WOAH is the global authority on animal health: we work to ensure the health of animals & their environments across the world, recognising that animal health impacts everyone’s health & that the safety of our future depends on it.
Since 1924, WOAH has focused on the complexities of animal health. Over time, WOAH expanded our mission to include building partnerships with other international organisations on global initiatives, developing and disseminating knowledge, monitoring animal diseases and designing science-based protocols to manage outbreaks before they become a threat to public health, livelihoods & international trade. WOAH has 182 Members worldwide that are committed to complying with our animal health and welfare standards.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
