Adapting to climate change: towards a European framework for action

This White Paper sets out a framework to reduce the European Union’s vulnerability to the impact of climate change. It outlines the need to create a clearing house mechanism by 2011 where information on climate change risks, impacts and best practices would be exchanged between governments, agencies, and organisations working on adaptation policies.

This White Paper builds on the wide-ranging consultation launched in 2007 by the Green Paper on Adapting to Climate Change in Europe and further research efforts that identified action to be taken in the short-term.
