Advancing disability-inclusive action on internal displacement
This collaborative report presents the latest research from across the globe on how persons with disabilities are affected by internal displacement. It draws from quantitative and qualitative data collected by the Internal Displacement Monitoring Center and other organisations to highlight the differentiated and multi-dimensional impacts of displacement on their lives.
The report shares lessons from organisations of persons with disabilities, Non-Governmental Organisations and civil society on how to mitigate some of the risks Internally Displaced Persons with disabilities encounter and highlights promising tools and practices to guide future action. In order to drive change, it is essential to guarantee the meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in all decisions that concern them, remove barriers and recognise and strengthen their capacity to lead activities to address internal displacement.
