This English-Russian-Kyrgyz glossary includes 53 key terms widely used in disaster risk reduction and other related fields. The glossary based on English and Russian versions of UNISDR terminology on DRR (2009) with integrated Kyrgyz translation.

This collection of the main body of disaster risk reduction terms used internationally with their definitions and meanings in three languages could help specialists, students, and researchers who work in Russian and Kyrgyz languages better understand the meaning of important DRR processes. This could, in turn, help to promote a better understanding of risk and effective DRR measures for improving resilience and supporting sustainable development initiatives.

The glossary has been approved by the government (Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic) and adopted for use in the national disaster risk reduction system.
