Anticipatory action in 2023: A global overview

This report is the Anticipation Hub’s second annual overview of anticipatory action, a series that will document changes in the sector over time. It draws upon desk research conducted during 2023 and early 2024 to map anticipatory action frameworks and activations worldwide.

This report presents encouraging data that offers evidence that anticipatory action is expanding in scale globally. This report also outlines how to build on the current momentum, such as by embedding this approach more deeply in strategic global initiatives, and highlights other thematic areas that were in the spotlight during 2023 like multi-hazard and multi-risk contexts.
