Application of High-Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) platforms in emergency preparedness and disaster management and mitigation

The objective of this study has been to assess the potential application of High-Altitude Long Endurance (HALE)- based remote sensing technologies to disaster management and mitigation. This study has investigated the utility of HALE-based remote sensing to support the key emergency management activities of risk, vulnerability and preparedness assessment; situational awareness of disasters and other emergency situations; disaster management and mitigation efforts and post-disaster evaluations and lessons learned processes.
