Center for Development Research annual report 2010/2011
This document reports on ZEF’s research and capacity building activities in 2010-2011. This year’s thematic overview is adapted to ZEF’s updated strategic research themes: (i) governance; (ii) land use and food security, including desertification and drought; (iii) mobility and migration; (iv) environmental, climate change and related risks; (v) water resources management, including floods; and (vi) health and sanitation. The overall goal of ZEF’s research endeavors remains the same: contributing to reducing poverty and improving livelihoods by conducting implementation-oriented research on sustainable development in close cooperation with local partners and stakeholders.
The report contains a lead article emphasising an agenda for science policy for development. It also highlights research conducted by our doctoral students working in teams with ZEF researchers – being key drivers of innovation at ZEF – as well as publications and outreach activities.
