This report presents China’s major activities and achievements in disaster risk reduction (DRR) during the IDNDR, and provides recommendations for improving country’s DRR practices in the 21st century.

The report describes the structure, functions, responsibilities and major activities of China National IDNDR Committee and some major non-governmental and scientific and technical organizations involved in disaster reduction and prevention. It also presents 26 case studies on flood, drought, cyclone, storm surge, earthquake, forest fire, disaster monitoring and early warning.
