Climate change: a development challenge

In response to the growing magnitude of climate change, this fact sheet outlines IFAD’s efforts to streamline climate change adaptation and mitigation into its programmes. It calls to listen to the voices of poor rural people in order to reduce the risks of climate change while accelerating progress towards a world without poverty.

It further describes: a biogas project in China; a programme for developing mechanisms to Reward the Upland Poor of Asia for Environmental Services (RUPES); an adaptation project in Peru; and partnerships on climate change between IFAD and other international organizations.
