Climate varability and climate change assessment for the Seychelles
This report analyses past and recent climate trends and characteristics in the island state of Seychelles in terms of the air-temperature, sea surface temperature, rainfall, sea-level and tropical cyclones. It also considers the El Nino southern oscillation (ENSO) influences on these parameters.
It is intended to contribute to the formulation of better climate change policies and strategies in the Seychelles. Moreover, the assessment aims to be used for factoring climate information into a diversity of socio-economic, environmental impact assessments and disaster and risks management activities in the Seychelles in order to derive maximum benefits and to ensure that environment and climate risks and impacts are minimised.
