CMDRR: a step to change the community

This book presents the disaster risk reduction efforts and coping mechanisms of the vulnerable communities which are part of the Strengthening the Community for Disaster Risk Management (SCDRM) project area in Bangladesh. Rather than a collection of stories, it focuses on facts, highlighting the disaster situations too many people are in, and the measures they take to save their lives, livelihoods and belongings. It documents the copying strategies of the communities, their disaster risk reduction knowledge, as well as the good practices and process followed during the implementation of community-managed disaster risk reduction (CMDRR) project.
