Community based risk assessment of agriculture sector in Sreerampur Union of Bangladesh

This paper identifies local hazards and assesses community vulnerabilities, capacity, risks and existing adaptation measures adopted by agriculture farmers in Patuakhali district in Bangladesh. Focus-group-discussions, key-informant-interviews, extensive physical visit and exploration of secondary data sources were followed to collect primary and secondary data. Further, the paper develops a community based disaster risk management framework in agriculture sector by analyzing the copping strategies towards these hazards in agriculture sector engaging the community approach.
