Current and future climate of Kiribati

This publication updates the original Current and future climate of Kiribati brochure published in 2011. The information in this publication, and research conducted by PACCSAP, builds on the findings of the 2013 IPCC Fifth Assessment Report, and uses new emissions scenarios and climate models. This brochure contains a summary of climate projections for Kiribati.

This brochure offers insights into the climate-related hazards facing Kiribati. Projected changes to Kiribati's climate include increasing temperatures, rising sea levels, ocean acidification, varying and more extreme rainfall, more very hot days, and changes in wave climate.
