Current and future climate of the Solomon Islands
This publication updates the original Current and future climate of the Solomon Islands brochure published in 2011. The information in this publication, and research conducted by PACCSAP, builds on the findings of the 2013 IPCC Fifth Assessment Report, and uses new emissions scenarios and climate models. This brochure contains a summary of climate projections for the Solomon Islands.
Specifically, this brochure describes the emerging climate-related hazards facing the country. Projected changes to the Solomon Islands' climate include increasing temperatures, rising sea levels, ocean acidification, less frequent rainfall, more very hot days, and stronger but less frequent tropical cyclones.
