Disaster-proofing the transport sector in Vietnam
This brief is part of a series highlighting the World Bank's achievements in disaster risk management initiatives. It presents efforts undertaken by the government of Vietnam, with support from GFDRR and the World Bank, in building the resilience of the transport sector against risk from natural disasters and climate change. Research and trials were conducted on the resilience of vulnerable rural roads, flood-proofing the National Highway 1a—the country’s main transport corridor—and minimizing the risk of connectivity loss in communities.
