Bhutan is a Himalayan Kingdom with population of over 600,000 approx. It is threatened by GLoF, flash flood, landslides, forest fires and earth quakes disasters. Acknowledging the emerging disaster threats, Government of Bhutan has asked MoHCA to come up with a comprehensive National Framework for disaster risk management in the country. With assistance from UNDP Office in Bhutan and regional experts, MoCHA have drafted a National Framework for disaster risk management and submitted to the cabinet for approval.
