Strategic coordination including the exchange of information, methodologies and tools between experts and institutions working on disaster risk management, climate change and development is essential for diminishing the impacts of natural disasters and improving the sustainability of development processes. Important synergies exist between the policy frameworks and practical methodologies for disaster risk management and the course recent scientific advances suggest will be required for adaptation to climate change.
