Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Framework
This publication describes four key diagrams, which together help build an understanding of Disaster Risk Management (DRM), including Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The diagrams are the Disaster Risk Management Cycle (DRMC), the DRR diagram, the DRM Planning diagram, and the Project Management Cycle (PMC).
These diagrams have been built up by TorqAid over the past 20+ years, with input from both humanitarian/development practitioners, and students. There is a strong link between the DRR diagram and the SFDRR illustrations. The diagrams can also be used to argue the relationships between DRM/DRR, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR), Covid-19 and Climate Change. The material includes:
- Four key TorqAid diagrams, namely the Disaster Risk Management Cycle (DRMC); the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) diagram; the DRM Planning diagram; and the Project Management Cycle (PMC).
- Applications of the DRMC diagram to the 2020-2022 Covid-19 pandemic
