Disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation workshop report
This document reports on a workshop aimed at introducing and integrating disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) within National Societies' disaster management and health and social services programs, by presenting the global alliance approach, climate change concepts, discussing new tools, guidelines and training modules, and building up sources of information. It intends to present a holistic DRR program including an integrated CCA program along with contingency planning strategies and Early Warning/Early Action (EW/EA) systems; and to serve as a beginning of the integration process at the national and zonal levels.
The report also encompasses other issues such as national and regional policy development, gender, health, and climate information. It includes document collection from group and individual work sessions, note taking by facilitators, collection of presentations, summaries from the presenters themselves, and collection of photographs from several participants.
