Disaster risk reduction institutionalization model: rural and urban

This report addresses the need for a harmonized model to strengthen the capacities of those working within the local, district and national institution on disaster risk reduction and management as well as develop a continual process of capacity building by institutionalising national Disaster Management systems in Bangladesh. It is intended to increase resilience and establish a culture of disaster risk reduction among communities and institutions vulnerable to hazards in Bangladesh. This model focuses on strengthening the state mechanism for disaster preparedness through community based rural and urban disaster preparedness.
