Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines country climate and development report
This regional Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR) contributes to the identification of opportunities for OECS countries to achieve their development goals and increase resilience by responding to the challenges posed by climate change. The CCDR was informed by existing and new analyses of development and climate action in OECS countries conducted by the World Bank, its development partners, research institutions, and nongovernmental organizations.
Some of the recommendations from the report include:
- Synergistic actions that support the transition to low carbon can also help build climate resilience
- Beyond the resilient core of physical capital, policy reforms and investments will be critical to build the resilience of human capital through health, education, and social protection services
- Adaptation investments deliver high economic benefits but entail high financing costs, provoking a difficult balancing act between building resilience and ensuring debt sustainability
- The road to strengthened resilience requires large investments, but prioritizing key investments as well as actions to strengthen knowledge and information can increase the efficiency of every dollar spent.
