Early warning - early action: a regional guideline for effective engagement
This publication provides guidance to the National Societies on effectively enhancing and supporting Early Warning Systems (EWS) in their respective countries, particularly at the community level. It aims to identify the current roles and responsibilities of National Society at various levels, including volunteers, and identifies how these positions could be enhanced to promote EWS. It is also meant to promote EWS advocacy and awareness raising, identify challenges for end-to-end EWS, and encourage the building of capacity for community-level EWS activities. It is intended to be used as a practical guideline for Red Cross and Red crescent national societies to better engage with the existing or setting up small new early warning projects in their countries and community level.
