This document addresses education systems everywhere to include a focus on the causes, consequences and solutions to climate change, if the necessary changes in society are to be effected in time. It suggests content and methodologies to build capacity in society for mitigation, adaptation, and transformability to climate change within the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD).
