El impacto de los terremotos en México en los niños, niñas y adolescentes: Hallazgos y recomendaciones para dar una mejor respuesta
El objetivo de este estudio consistió en generar un entendimiento más preciso de la situación que se vive ante los sismos del 7 y 19 de septiembre de 2017 en zonas del interior del país e identificar las principales afectaciones que sufrieron niños, niñas y adolescentes, así como sus necesidades más urgentes desde una perspectiva integral. Esto con el propósito de generar evidencia y recomendaciones que puedan guiar los esfuerzos de abogacía y programas de preparación, respuesta y recuperación ante emergencias futuras.
El estudio comprende un análisis comparado de casos para el cual se seleccionaron los municipios de Juchitán en Oaxaca y Jojutla en Morelos, ya que ambos comparten un alto nivel de daño que sufrieron por los terremotos y altos niveles de pobreza. La selección se realizó buscando que los municipios fueran similares para controlar, en la medida de lo posible, por factores intrínsecos de cada uno que pudieran explicar el daño sufrido por la población y que las proposiciones de estudio pudieran ser más fácilmente generalizables.
