Evaluation of the World Bank Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR)

This report presents an evaluation of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), one of the more recent donor-supported partnership programs of the World Bank. It aims to provide the GFDRR and management with an independent assessment of GFDRR performance since inception (i.e., its relevance, effectiveness, efficiency) in the context of reducing a country’s vulnerability to natural hazards and climate variability. It identifies lessons learnt for improvement of the Facility in the future, and provides recommendations for improvement of the program approach and business model, and optimizing its partnering arrangements in anticipation of future growth.
