Experience of the European Union in adaptation to climate change and its application to Ukraine
This report presents examples of effective climate change adaptation (CCA) from around the European Union in order to offer practical guidance on undertaking adaptation activities in Ukraine. The report is divided into seven sections: (i) the first section introduces the key terms in CCA and the concept of adaptation policy; (ii) section two addresses the climate change impacts and vulnerabilities for Ukraine; (iii) section three discusses the types of policy for CCA in national, regional, and local governments; (iv) section four describes different types and purposes of risk assessment; (v) section five presents examples of existing adaptation measures by sector; (vi) section six discusses options for financing CCA projects; and (vii) section seven concludes the report, calling on all levels of government to lead their nation in CCA.
