This document is a new standard (BS 85500:2015) developed to provide guidance to developers and designers on how to improve the flood resistance and resilience of buldings. This is intended to reduce the impacts of flooding from all sources, by the use of suitable materials and constructrion details. It provides specific guidance on:

  • identifying when building flood resilience and resistance are appropriate;
  • reducing the impacts of flooding from all sources;
  • the use of suitable materials and construction techniques.
