Geoinformatics applications in disaster management: training module
This training module has been developed for various institutions dealing with capacity building in the use of geographical information systems (GIS) in disaster management. It introduces geo-informatics and its applications and key global initiatives in the area and also discusses tools and methods for undertaking hazard mapping, monitoring, analysis and assessment.
The module also offers guidance for developing, implementing and utilizing decision support systems for disaster management planning and emergency response. It consists of the following seven sub-modules:
