GFDRR partnership strategy 2009–2012: reducing disaster risks for sustainable development
This paper outlines a medium-term strategic framework for the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) and is aiming to be considered in the broader context of the increasing global commitments of GFDRR partners to mainstreaming disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation for sustainable development.
It has been developed in accordance with the GFDRR Partnership Charter in response to the outcomes identified at the 4th Consultative Group (CG) meeting in April 8-9, 2008, Washington DC, and reflects the discussion in the 5th CG meeting in Copenhagen, November 13-14, 2008 as well as the most recent discussions at the CG meeting in Geneva, June 14-15, 2009.
