Guidance note on leveraging Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFF) for Disaster Risk Reduction
This note provides guidance on leveraging Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs) to align financial policies and strategies with disaster risk reduction (DRR) goals as presented in the Sendai Framework. As such it addresses the following questions:
- How can INFFs help finance a country's DRR goals?
- How can INFFs help enhance consistency and alignment of all financing in support of a country's DRR goals?
- How can INFFs help bring together DRR, national development, and financing actors?
This is a guidance note that was contributed to the G20 Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Working Group which convened in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in July 2023. The G20 DRR Working Group aims to integrate risk reduction measures into public and private sector investment decisions and policy making to reduce existing risk, prevent the creation of new risk and, ultimately, build resilient economies, societies, and natural systems.
