Guide for tsunami evacuation during COVID-19
The guide provides information about the tsunami's early warning to be issued in case of tsunami emergency, preparedness for tsunami evacuation that need to be organized by the local disaster management agencies with this COVID-19 situation, and guide how to evacuate the people during tsunami emergency based on their exposure to COVID-19. The Corona Virus Pandemic (COVID-19) already overwhelms disaster management agencies and humanitarian activists. What if this COVID-19 crisis condition is worsened by other disasters especially caused by natural hazards that can happen any time, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, volcanic eruptions, and other natural phenomenons.
The Indian Ocean Tsunami Information Center of UNESCO-IOC in UNESCO Office Jakarta in collaboration with the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB), The Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG), the Institute for Technology Bandung (ITB), the Indonesian Association of Tsunami Experts (IATsI) and the Youth and Young Professionals in SETI for DRR (U-INSPIRE) published a leaflet in Bahasa Indonesia titled “Guide for Tsunami Evacuation during COVID-19” for Local Disaster Management Agencies (BPBD).
