Health and disaster risk reduction

This policy paper addresses Merlin's work in the area of health, promoting the importance of reducing disaster risk, and highlighting the impact of disasters on health and the critical role of an effective health system in risk reduction at local, national and international level.

This paper has been prepared by Merlin’s Policy team within the Health and Policy department, and is based on a discussion document (2008) looking at disaster risk reduction in Merlin’s programmes.
