HLPF 2024: SEM summary of engagement report

The Stakeholder's Engagement Mechanism's (SEM) participation at the High-Level Political Forum 2024 made a tangible impact by directly reaching 155+ people and more than 4000 indirectly. SEM interventions contributed to key dialogues on Sustainable Development Goals 13 and 16, and succeeded in raising awareness of the critical role that disaster risk reduction plays in achieving the broader sustainable development agenda.

SEM also facilitated cross-sectoral discussions and highlighted the importance of risk-informed analysis in decision-making processes. Moreover, SEM engagement in partner events allowed it to expand its network and establish new collaborations with United Nations entities and member states missions that share its commitment to building resilience through partnerships.
