How can we be better prepared for the next global health threat? Planning and implementing emergency risk communication
This report summarizes workshop discussions that aimed to review best practice in the areas of emergency preparedness and risk communication, specifically in the context of public health preparedness plans. This report includes sections on foundational theory, case studies on past health emergencies, and key challenges to emergency risk communication (ERC). It also offers conclusions and proposed solutions regarding resources, monitoring and evaluation, community engagement, uncertainty management, ERC integration into the preparedness cycle, and understanding the political interface.
