This ICSU report summarizes major achievements over the past six years and analyzes the key challenges ahead in order to identify priorities and actions for the next six years within the three major areas: coordinating and planning research, science for policy and the universality of science. It includes a 10-year initiative on Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) and new programme topics, such as disaster risk and urban health.
