Incident response system: logistic section - Training module
This guideline gives an overview of the existing institutional and legal arrangements and Incident Response System (IRS) in India. It describes the organisation of the IRS and details the different command and general staff positions, various incident facilities, documentation requirements, etc. It is intended for the personnel involved in incident/emergency response to better coordinate among the responding agencies and to ensure that the personnel involved in such responses do not get overwhelmed by the incident and have the ability and competence to function well during an emergency.
This reference text addresses the gathering of information about the assignment and is intended for section leaders to help students: (i) identify items required for their work; (ii) discuss what information they may receive from the responsible officer/outgoing incident commander; (iii) list information they might receive from a briefing from the incident commander or supervisor; and (iv) identify what information they may receive from the personnel already working on the incident.
