Inclusive vulnerability mapping and monitoring of post disaster response (IVM and MPDR)

Towards developing a methodology and template for field practice - A process to ensure Dalit and gender inclusion:

This document helps in understanding the nature of caste structures in disasters and enables mapping of vulnerabilities of socially marginalised sections, more so, suffering on account of caste and gender/patriarchy, and both. The mapping of tool presented in the paper develops effectiveness in "peace times", before disasters strike. It intends to assist community volunteers/frontline personnel in assessing causes of vulnerability of the socially excluded sections and thereby begin the process of ensuring inclusion of Dalits and women, in reaching out to them with pertinent Disaster Relief and Disaster Risk Reduction (DR & DRR) actions.
