Indicators of climate adaptation in the Columbia Basin: How ‘state of the Basin’ indicators can be used to measure climate changes, impacts and progress towards adaptation
This document reports on the project: Using Columbia Basin ‘State of the Basin’ indicators to measure climate adaptation, which purpose was to review SoTB indicators for the Columbia Basin Trust region (the Basin) and assess their ability to measure the effectiveness of climate adaptation. The goals of the project were to develop a suite of regional-level climate change indicators to measure community climate adaptation efforts, assist communities in understanding climate change and adaptation, help decision makers in the Basin make informed decisions and to measure the success of adaptation efforts.
The first section of this report contains a description of the project and background on the State of the Basin indicators, sections two and three present the project literature review and project models. Section four outlines the five adaptation pathways, and section five discusses the community resilience index. The report concludes with recommendations and lessons learned in sections six and seven.
